Kenda K478 Tires

The Kenda K478 is an all season tire manufactured for lawn mowers and garden tractors, mainly for snow blowers and tiller applications.

The model guarantees traction on versatile terrains, thanks to the large tread elements, which firmly grip the driving surface. These tread elements help the tire handle soft, loose, and uneven terrain surfaces. The tire is able to maintain constant forward motion at all times. The special tread design eliminates dirt, snow, and rocks from the footprint, boosting its overall surface contact. This improves traction on versatile terrains.

The reinforced internal structure also keeps the ideal tire shape under load and driving pressure. As the tire does not deform, it is able to carry and withstand heavy loads. This significantly improves the model’s overall load capacity. On the other hand, the rubber compound protects the tire against external damage, such as punctures, cuts, and tearing along the tread area. This enhances the tire’s safe performance on versatile terrains.

The Kenda K478 also boosts its year-round performance. This tread follows the surface in dry, wet, and winter conditions, while the compound keeps the rubber flexible in changing temperatures. As a result, this tread design and all season compound work together to offer safe all season traction.

This is a bias ply tire. Due to the tire’s internal construction and size, it is possible that the tire will look deformed. Smaller bias ply tires do not have reinforced constructions that can keep the tire from deforming. The bias construction and the small tire’s non-reinforced internal structure allow the tire to fold in when it is deflated or not properly inflated. This is not constructional damage or an issue; it is a normal occurrence with such tires. In such cases, the tire needs to be mounted and inflated to the proper PSI or, in some instances, an inner tube needs to be added. The proper PSI and the inner tube are able to maintain the tire’s ideal shape, preventing the bias plies from looking deformed. This ensures their performing safety and durability.

The photo is a representation of the tire’s possible deformation, it does not represent the specific tire model, size, tread pattern and application.

This specific tire model features a BIASED ply construction.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
