The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 SUV-4X4 is a high performance, summer tire made to be mounted on crossover vehicles and SUVs.
The tire provides great summer weather traction. The asymmetric tread design and special silica and polymer compound increase the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. However, the model will not perform well in winter weather. The wide circumferential tread grooves manage to actively disperse water from below the tire’s footprint to ensure a safer wet weather performance.
The model is easily controlled. The tread pattern firmly grips the road surface thanks to its asymmetric nature. The wide outer shoulder area increases the cornering ability by promoting additional biting edges. The center area’s three continuous ribs keep the tire on the road and stabilize the tire against the driving pressure affecting it. The ActiveBraking Technology uses 3D tread elements to enlarge the footprint during braking and shorten the braking distance significantly, offering a secured driving experience.
The tire’s internal structure features double steel belts strengthened with spiral-wrapped polyamide cords. These upgrade the tread stability and boost the tire’s high speed performance. The stabilized tread prevents tread shifting, which avoids irregular wear formations. The tire does not deform under the high speed driving pressure, which allows the model to perform to its best ability in summer conditions.
This tire model was manufactured as the original equipment tire of select Audi vehicles.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
