General G-MAX AS-05 Tires

The General G-MAX AS-05 is a high performance, all season tire made to be mounted on performance vehicles. It has a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty.

The tire promotes excellent all weather traction and road gripping ability. The all season tire compound and the asymmetric tread design provide superb all weather traction without sacrificing its high speed performance. The large shoulder tread blocks located on the tire’s shoulders increase the all weather traction as well, as they maintain constant road gripping ability. The high silica compound and the tread design boost the hydroplaning resistance as the circumferential grooves effectively resist hydroplaning situations by eliminating water and slush from the footprint.

The SmartGrip Technology and the Stabilitread Technology ensure a safer driving experience. The center rib of the tread design improves the steering responsiveness and accuracy. This allows the tire to perform well and respond quickly to the driver’s commands even at high speeds. The Stabilitread provides a flat tire footprint that lowers the tread stress. This not only stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure, but also extends the tread life significantly by preventing irregular tread wear from forming.

The General G-MAX AS-05’s tread design features a Replacement Tire Monitor and Visual Alignment Indicators. The RTM notifies the driver when the tires need to be replaced, which ensures that they do not drive on unsafe, worn out tires. The VAI provides a visual representation of the tread wear rate. It shows whether the vehicle’s alignment is in line or not and allows the driver to correct it before uneven wear patterns are formed on the tread.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
