Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Tires

The Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 is a high performance, all season tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Continental offers a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with new tires of this model.

The tire increases the all weather driving safety levels. The asymmetric tread design and the all season compound increase the dry, wet, and winter weather grip on the road surface. The tread design with the detailed siping, groove, and groove edge details boost the grip by generating additional biting edges throughout the performance. The durable compound elements optimize the rubber flexibility while the tires are in motion, ensuring a safer year-round performance. The circumferential and angled lateral grooves prevent hydroplaning as they disperse water and slush from the footprint, actively boosting the wet weather performance.

The tire’s flat footprint and the special Sport Plus technology enhance the controllability. The tread maintains the tire’s surface contact while the tires are in motion. This increases the steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the tire is quicker and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure. The shoulder block placement upgrades the cornering ability with the use of extra biting edges. The Sport Plus technology reinforces the structure and helps prevent heat build-up during the high speed drive, resulting in the tire’s exceptional high speed durability.

The Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 also promotes a longer usability. The stabilized tread elements ensure even pressure distribution along the footprint, preventing irregular and premature wear formations. Furthermore, the tread features alignment and performance indicators. The alignment indicators portray the tread wear rate and manner of the tires, allowing the driver to get the vehicle’s alignment checked out when an issue is noticed. The performance indicators, on the other hand, place the letters “DWS” on the tread, which represent the dry, wet, and snow traction. The tire loses the traction the letters represent as the letters wear out, enabling the driver to follow the tire’s performing ability and versatile weather safety during its use.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
